A Kevin Scott Hees Makeover
Make-up by Kevin Scott Hees
For this photograph, from a book he is currently working on, make-up artist and photographer Kevin Scott Hees says that he wanted to do a very natural look with a single strong element. That element here: the eyebrows. Hees calls the result an edgy, hyperdramatic editorial look. Hees is a Stila representative, so he used all Stila products.

Skin care: Stila Petal Infusions Moisturizer for normal skin
Foundation: Stila Illuminating Liquid Foundation in 30 Watts
Concealer: Stila Perfecting Foundation in shade C
Powder: Stila Loose Powder in medium shade. Hees used very little powder, leaving the skin dewy and natural.
Cheeks: Stila Convertible Color in Fuschia
Eye liner: Stila Kajal Eyeliner Pencil in Onyx
Brows: Stila Black Smudge Pot. Hees also used the Kajal Eyeliner Pencil in Onyx on the brows. To blend and shape the brow, Hees used an angle brush.
Mascara: Stila Major Lash Mascara in Black.
Lips: Stila Lip Glaze in Passion Fruit
Working with this face: “I love Ryan’s face,” Hees says of the model. “She has big beautiful eyes and strong features, and yet she looks very feminine and doll-like.”
Inspiration: Hees says that in the ‘90s, when he was learning to do make-up, brows were very defined. “Natural” brows have been the dominant trend the last few years, but Hees still loves perfectly shaped eyebrows.
