The Softer side of Pam on the cover of Elle Canada 2004
Makeup by Alexis Vogel

Skin Prep-
Alexis started with Christian Dior Toner. She applied Remede Alchemy Moisturizer day or night and added a touch of BeneFit High Beam on cheeks and forehead to enhance a skin glow. “It does come through the foundations!” says Alexis
. For eye cream, she used Natura Bisse Diamond Under Eye Cream and for lips, Caudelie Lip Conditioner Anti Oxidant. Alexis suggests soaking lips with a lip conditioner before doing makeup, then blot it off and you are good to go!
Foundation- Pamela’s flawless skin was created by using a mixture of Shu Uemura Nobara Cream 554 (93A) and Alexis Vogel Cream Foundation in Summer Kiss—both applied very sheer. Alexis sprayed her face with AV Meadow Mist to blend and let the skin show through before powdering.
Concealer- AV in Banish was mixed with a few dots of Senna Minimal Concealer Medium C10 and pat with finger under eyes to keep the area looking soft and natural. Alexis set under eye concealer with Lancôme Dual Finish Powder in Matte Porcelaine D’Ivoire , a lightweight powder, for the most delicate eye area.
Powder- AV Translucent Compact in Mirage. For a glowing finish, Alexis dusted Pamela’s face with a fine layer of MAC Golden Bronze loose powder.
Blush –
Pamela is wearing Chanel Terre Brulee Golden Sun on her cheeks. Alexis topped off the apples of her cheeks with some AV blush in Fresh.
Eyeliner - First, Alexis applied a layer of AV Cake Liner in Black-Brown to do the first sketch of her angle and line very softly. Once she achieved her desired look, she went over it with Yves St. Laurent Liquid Liner in Black Noir starting thin and graduating as she sketched outward and angled upwards toward the end of the lashes upper eyelid. “I smudge it a bit with a wet Q-tip so it doesn’t look like a solid line,” reveals Alexis. Alexis lined under eye liner with Chanel Trio Crayon Double-Sided pencil in Topaz for a smoky bottom eyeliner. She then went over the Crayon with Bio Elements in SunSpot shadow to set it. AV Stardust glitter was applied wet only in the front corner of the lower rim of lids going out about ¼ of the way. “It really is a subtle highlight accent,” she explains. To make the whites of Pamela’s eyes even brighter, Alexis used AV Eye Popper Pencil on the inside of Pamela’s lower eyelids.
Brows - Brows were defined with T. Le Clerc Blonde Pencil. A  tiny bit of AV Shadow in Lovedust was sketched over the pencil. Brows were set in place with AV Brow Gel and brushed delicately before the gel dried so they would look very groomed and soft.
Eye Shadow:  To highlight under the brows, Alexis used L’Oreal Loose Shimmer in Mystified. Bio Elements in SunSpot was applied in the crease and outer corner of upper eye area and blended with AV Eye Shadow in Passion and Lovedust. Alexis suggests putting a bit of Passion (it’s a bit darker then the other two shadows but still not too dark) behind the lashes and blended down into the liners to give a bit more depth to the eye. (No black shadow was used!) For a nice accessory and highlight, Alexis applied AV Cream Eye Shadow in Seashell on the inner part of the upper eyelid.
Lashes: Curled with AV Lash Curler. Alexis used one pair of Ardell Demi Luvies and added a pair of black AV Cat Eye Lash Extensions in the outer corners to lift up the shape even more. "We don’t put a lot of mascara on so they look more like lashes—more flirty, soft and fluffy," says Alexis who applied Maybelline Great Lash in Black to top and (lightly) on bottom lashes.
Lips - Started with a bit of AV Lip stain in Cuddles, a very natural, soft pink and lips were lined with Fresh Poppy Plume to define and enhance a little bit of her own shape.  Then went over it to soften and set with a tad of foundation and powder. Then we applied good old Maybelline Nude Blush Lipstick in # 143 moisture whip over lips.  To really top it off to a baby soft luscious pout we used Sebastian Lip Gloss Trucco Divinyls Sheer in Pink Silk with a bit of AV Lip Gloss in Prissy.
